Abstract
Using the random patch model, kinetic expressions are derived for the pressure dependence of first- and second-order surface reactions. Employing first- and second-order Stieltjes transforms and a Mellin transform, explicit expressions are derived for the rates as functions of pressure and the parameters characterizing the site energy distribution. It is shown that the rates reflect the nature of the four distributions studied.
