Abstract

Uridine diphosphoglucose-glycogen transglucosylase was purified 50-fold from sheep brain. Experiments showed that it is activated by Mg++ and cysteine and that its activity is maximum at pH 7.4.Km value for uridine diphosphogluocose is 5.10-4M. Inorganic phosphate inhibited the activity of the enzyme and this inhibition was reversed by glucose 6-phosphate.
