Abstract

The problem of homogeneous and heterogeneous reactions in tubular flow reactors has been studied on the basis of the axial dispersion model. The model parameters are evaluated 'a priori' and the quantitative results of the reactor exit concentration obtained on the basis of this model are compared with the exact numerical solution. It is shown that the model gives good predictive results for reactor design purposes.
