Abstract

Non-viscometric rotational flows around spheres and discs were used to determine the material parameters in the constitutive equations describing the flow behaviour of the viscoelastic fluids. The theoretical results of Giesekus as well as the semi-theoretical procedure proposed in this work were successfully utilised for finding the zero shear viscosity of a variety of fluids. It was shown that it is also possible to obtain the material parameters describing the third order behaviour.
