Abstract

The presence of uridine diphosphoacetylglucosamine pyrophosphorylase in the brain has been established. It has been purified 46-fold from sheep brain. Experiments have shown that it is activated by various divalent metal ions, its activity is optimum at pH 8.0, and the Km value for uridine diphospho-N-acetyl glucosamine is 3.6.10-4M and for pyrophosphate 7.9.10-4M.
