Abstract

It is shown, that for the solar photosphere the collisional-damping by hydrogen atoms is larger than that of electrons for 3s3 P0-3p3 D multiplet of carbon at 10, 700 Å. The variation of the total damping constant as a function of optical depth for the Fraunhofer lines λ 5896 of Na I and λ 3968 of Ca II are also given.
