Abstract

The application of Gibberellic Acid to Datura innoxia Mill, in 100-200 PPM concentrations, showed a favourable vegetative growth and thus an increase in the yield of the crude drug per plant, but per-centage of total alkaloids showed a slight decrease in treated plants as compared with untreated ones. Formation of flowers and seeds in the treated plants was earlier than in the controls, and the roots showed more alkaloids in the former than in latter. Possibility for exploiting the roots at harvest is suggested.
