Abstract

We show that the masses of the 1 3P0,1,2 and 1 1P1 levels of the upsilon spectrum are almost uniquely predicted by the recently proposed potential A + Brα, thereby offering an interesting test of the recent claim that the charmonium and upsilon spectra can be simultaneously fitted by this potential. A number of other predictions are also made which hopefully can be tested in the near future.
