Abstract

The effects of time delay on the transition curve marking the onset of kinetic instability in a class of reaction-diffusion systems are analytically evaluated by linearizing the system equations. The analysis in general shows that the transition curves become multivalued and indicates considerable shrinkage of the parameter plane where such transitions can occur. Also, the effect is more severe for higher extents of time delay.
