Abstract

Dynamic behavior of coupled cells, each of which is exhibiting a complex pattern, has been studied as a function of a coupling parameter for a simple model system. Coupling of cells with different dynamics for different cases show a generalized feature, namely, presence of a hyperchaotic regime at low coupling strengths followed by a periodic window at intermediate values followed by synchronization in a chaotic state. The interesting observation of complete synchronization of individual cells even when the coupled dynamics show chaos is of considerable significance.
