Abstract
The title compounds (1a-e̲) undergo facile base catalysed rearrangement to give 5a-e̲ . A mechanism involving thioallylic rearrangement of intermediates, 2-bisalkylthiomethyl acrylophenones, (3a-e̲) has been proposed.
