Abstract
The structure of ailanthot (1), having the triterpene skeleton (20S̲)-4 4,8 β - trimethyl-14, 18-cyclo 5a, 13a, 14a, 17a-cholestane, has been assigned by spectral analysis and X-ray crystal structure determination.
