Abstract

The solid byproducts formed in the addition of dinitrogen trioxide to 1-arylcyclohexenes have been shown to be 3-nitro-2-aryl-2-cyclohexenone oximes arising from nitrosation of 2-nitro-1-arylcyclohexenes.
