Abstract

We have explored the dynamical behavior across the phase coexistence region in a weakly pinned single crystal of 2H-NbSe2, which displays both second magnetization peak (SMP) and peak effect (PE) anomalies, by analyzing the scan rate dependent magnetization hysteresis. We also compare the new observations with the behavior evident in a nascent pinned crystal of 2H-NbSe2, which displays only a sharp peak effect anomaly, to elucidate the role of enhanced quenched random disorder.
