Abstract

Two simple models, one of Hougen, Watson and Ragatz (HWR) and the other by Dotterweich and Mooney (DM), were used to compute motive steam consumptions in a single-stage, single-fluid, steam jet ejector as a function of nozzle and diffuser efficiencies. The results were compared with the empirical graphs of Ludwig and Power. The r versus suction pressure graphs are straight lines having slopes which are independent of the two efficiencies. It is found that the HWR model represents the empirical curves better than the other model.
