Abstract

We have synthesized FINEMET type amorphous Fe73.5Cu1Mo3Si12.5Al1B9 alloy by single wheel melt spinning technique. The effect of crystallization on the thermomagnetic properties have been studied using vibrating sample magnetometer, Mössbauer spectroscopy, etc. An enhancement in the Curie temperature of the amorphous phase of the alloy when isothermally annealed has been attributed to the effect of exchange-field penetration upon the formation of the Fe3Si nanocrystalline phase.
