Abstract

We consider the investigation of the singlet–triplet transition phenomenon predicted to exhibit a two-electron quantum dot as a result of Coulomb repulsion. Starting with a variational ground state we show analytically how Coulomb repulsion is responsible for this transition, and suggests investigation of this effect through Raman spectroscopy. An analytical photoelectric study has also been made and the practical difficulty of experimentation in this line has also been pointed out.
