Abstract
Vertical recharge to groundwater due to the 1972 monsoon plus supplemental irrigation has been measured at 21 sites in the state of Panjab (1ndia) using tritigm tracer. Average recharge is found to be equivalent to 8.5 cm of water. This is about 18% of the average rainfall and 12% of the total watering.
