Abstract

A low cost trigger method, based on the change in slope of the signal, is used to capture infrequent and irregular events from a stream of regular events is described. This procedure is used to separate the modified corona current pulses, which arise due to dust interaction with corona discharge, from the regular corona current pulses. An electronic circuit, used in this procedure is described. The usefulness of this technique in studying glow to arc transition in plasma processing reactors and disruption phenomena in Tokamaks is also discussed.
