Abstract
Silylpropyltrimethylammonium iodide covalently anchored onto montmorillonite shows good catalytic activity in carbonyl reduction under triphase catalysis. Selectively trans-t-butylcyclohexanol was formed selectively in good yield in the reduction of 4-t-butylcyclohexanone. the catalyst was resued for several cycles.
