Abstract

Surgical and radiothyroidectomy suppressed feather regeneration and increased the weight of the body, liver, gonads, and gonoducts in Spotted Munia. Chemical thyroidectomy (methylthiouracil) differed only in not being able to affect gonad and gonoduct weight, probably because of incomplete impairment of thyroid function.
