Abstract

Some Ω results are proved in this paper. It suffices to state a particular result. Write D(n) for the number of square free divisors of n. Next put ∑Nn−1 D(n) − x/ζ (2) × (log x + (2y − 1 − 2ζ(2)/ζ(2))) = E(x), where N is the integral part of x. Given any ε > 0 we define explicitly a sequence of intervals in each of which max |E(x)|x−1/4+ε > 1.
