Abstract

Bis(phenylethynyl)pyridylcarboxamides (BPEPs) with amide side chains at the para position of the NH2 group show stronger solvatochromic responses than those of the meta analogue. These probes can detect human telomeric G-quadruplex (h-TELO) through considerable fluorescence enhancement and assemble a small h-TELO motif into novel supramolecular nanoarchitectures
