Abstract

The electrical conduction properties of layered compounds Na2Ni2TeO6 have been investigated by comprehensive complex impedance spectra measurements and their analysis by equivalent circuit method. Non-Debye type time relaxation is suggested by depressed semi-circles in the Cole-Cole plot. The temperature dependent conductivity curves reveal an activation type behavior. The present study has determined a large ionic conductivity (∼5-9 x10-4 S/ m @ 50 °C) that increases with reducing Na concentration. Our study shows that the present compounds with high Na conductivity are suitable for Na-ion battery application.
