Abstract

Synthesis of raspberry ketone, an important flavour molecule, is carried out from p-hydroxybenzaldehyde and acetone over novel Ni/ Zn−La catalyst. The catalyst was synthesized using combustion method and glycine as a fuel. The catalyst is stable and reusable up to 4 cycles. A kinetic model was developed separately for two different steps and the reaction is kinetically controlled.
