Abstract

Let's gel: A series of metallogels are prepared by treating a newly synthesized urea-functionalized dicarboxylate ligand, namely, 5-[3-(pyridin-3-yl)ureido]isophthalic acid (PUIA), with various metal salts (CuII, ZnII, CoII, CdII, and NiII salts) at room temperature. The use of these metallogels for various biological applications is highlighted. DOX=doxorubicin, PGE2=prostaglandin E2.
