Abstract

Intravenous administration of Arvin in rabbits over a period of two months produced antibodies with consequent neutralisation of its action and a rise in fibrinogen concentration of blood to control values. The antibodies could be detected by the end of four weeks of therapy and were found to be a mixture of lgG and lgM class of immunoglobulins. The results indicate that prolonged Arvin therapy in clinical disorders may not be possible because of the antibody response to the drug.
