Abstract

Highly functionalized trans-decalins have been synthesized in a diastereoselective fashion via cascade intermolecular Michael-intramolecular aldol reaction involving cyclic ketones and Rauhut-Currier adducts of nitroalkenes under Lewis base/Bronsted acid-catalyzed conditions.
