Abstract
In this paper we study the existence, nonexistence and simplicity of the first eigenvalue of the Hardy-Sobolev operator Δpu - (n-p/p)p qup-1 / ¦x¦p under various assumptions on q. We will also analyse the singularity present in the first eigenfunction when q≡s with 0<s<1.
