Abstract

Synthetic approach to 3-alkoxythapsane, comprising of the carbon framework of a small group of sesquite1venes containing three contiguous quatemmy carbon atoms has been desclibecl. A combination of alkylation. 01thoester Claisen reana.ngement and intramolecular cliazoketone cyclopropanation has been employed for the creation of the three requisite contiguous quatemmy carbo~1 atoms.
