Abstract

A new metal‐directed (Ti, Zr, Al, In, Sn) domino aldol‐aldol hemiacetal reaction is presented that can be used for the highly stereoselective de‐novo synthesis of tetrahydropyran‐2,4‐diols containing five stereogenic centers.
