Abstract
We consider flavor-changing neutral-current scattering of neutrinos within the core of a protoneutron star, in a scenario where an SU(2)L-singlet neutrino (νs) mixes with the electron neutrino (νe). Using the scattering cross sections and the observed duration of neutrino bursts, we derive constraints on the masses and mixing angles of the singlet neutrinos, and compare them with the already suggested cosmological constraints.
