Abstract

This paper deals with the design and development of fuzzy logic based controller for Distribution Static compensator (DSTATCOM) applied to an isolated system. The controller is developed and simulated for a small diesel generator system feeding a variety of linear as well as non-linear loads. Fuzzy rules are developed and successively reduced at every step such that controller design is simplified yet the system performance is not affected. MATLAB/Simulink based models are developed for observing steady state as well as dynamic performance. Comparison with standard PI controller is also undertaken for comparison.
