Abstract

A telecommand system has been designed and realised for on-line payload control during a balloon flight. The PCM/PDM/ASK/AM system has 32 ON/OFF type commands and 32 DATA (12 bits) type commands. The ground system has been interfaced to a LSI-11 microprocessor so that commands can also be operated in a software-controlled manner in addition to manual-mode operation. The coding and redundancy have been chosen such that the probability of wrong command operation as well as rejection of genuine commands is extremely small.
