Abstract

Mixed crystals of the title compounds grown in solution exhibit both free and hydrogen-bonded O-H groups. A model for such crystals must incorporate the apparently structurally irreconcilable consequences of O-H…O and C…C interactions which are responsible for dimorphism in pentachlorophenol itself.
