Abstract

Proper control and appropriate load sharing among Distributed Generation (DG) is desirable for distributed power generation systems. Increasing energy demand and reduction of conventional energy sources is leading towards greater interest in the use of non-conventional energy sources. This paper discuss the development of Synchronous Reference Frame (SRF) based control technique for proper sharing of load in grid connected system. A non-conventional energy source is modeled using a voltage source converter (VSC) having a DC supply at one end. Two DGs are connected to the grid system feeding a variety of loads. Sharing of both linear and non-linear loads is presented. Active and reactive power sharing between the DGs and utility grid is considered in this paper. Different types of loads are modeled and simulation study is done using MATLAB/SIMULINK environment.
