Abstract

Introducing insulating phases into non-aqueous salt solution leads to remarkable conductivity enhancements, an effect ascribed to breaking up of ion pairs. This new class of electrolytes combines the high ionic conductivities of liquids and beneficial mechanical properties of soft matter.
