Abstract

A novel reversed Hoogsteen mode is observed for the base-pairing of 8-amino-2'-deoxyadenosine with 2'-deoxythymidine in low dielectric solvent. The results may have important significance for designing novel DNA duplexes and triplexes incorporating 8-amino-dA.
