Abstract

The effect of different storage conditions (liquid medium, temperature, gas atmosphere and storage period) on the H2 content of Raney nickel catalyst and on its catalytic activity in the hydrogenation of p-nitrotoluene to p-toluidine has been investigated. The results indicate that the effect of a particular storage condition on the activity of the catalyst cannot be isolated; the activity depends on the combined effect of the storage conditions employed.
