Abstract

The transient behaviour of a three phase induction motor operating with single phase supply and using capacitors as phase converter is condidered. Instantaneous symmetrical components are used in modeling the motor with different stator connections, including the external capacitor. Digital simulation studies have been carried out for the system considered and the results are presented and discussed.
