Abstract

We report the magnetic and transport properties in the series La0.7-xDyxSr0.3MnO3 (0.0⩽x⩽0.4). Susceptibility and resistivity studies show that La0.7-xDyxSr0.3MnO3 for x< 0.35 order ferromagnetically and show metal–insulator transition. Magnetic and transport studies show a gradual increase of antiferromagnetic interaction with x, ultimately leading to a spin-glass-like state for x>0.3 compounds. The sample with x=0.4 shows a dramatic increase in resistivity near the spin-glass ordering temperature TSG.
