Abstract

The article discusses the application of indigenous Lagrangian drifter in detecting Sea-surface Temperature (SST) anomaly in the equatorial region of Bay of Bengal. It notes that SST is one of the critical parameters related to the global ocean-atmosphere system playing a key role in studies of air-sea heat exchange, upper ocean processes, and weather forecast. An overview of the Pradyu drifter is provided.
