Abstract
Theory for multiple frame surveys for multistage sampling designs is complicated since various alternatives are available. Estimation of population total for such surveys is considered here for two stage sampling designs with unequal first stage units, when selection at either stage is with equal probabilities. Advantages through multiple frames are illustrated using 'two frames at the first' and 'a single frame' at the second stage.
