Abstract

The effect of partial deuteration on the polar mode softening and the elastic anomaly temperatures of KDP has been investigated here in the framework of the coupled proton-deuteron tunnelling model. This has been done by calculating the mixed Green function in the paraelectric phase, using the mean lattice approximation and random phase decoupling. The elastic anomaly temperature is seen to approach the polar mode softening temperature with deuteration.
