Abstract

We report the first piezomodulation spectrum of Cd1-xMnxTe. Signatures of the exciton transition and the internal transition of Mn++ are identified. The opposite signs of these signatures are attributed to the positive pressure coefficient of the direct interband transition as contrasted to a negative pressure coefficient for the 6A14T1 transition causing the Mn++ feature.
