Abstract
Recrystallization of [BrSn(S2CNEt2)2(OC(CH3)CHCOCH3)] 1, formed from the reaction of Br2Sn(S2CNEt2)2 with Na(CH3COCHCOCH3) in 1:1 molar ratio yields [(Et2NCS2)2Sn(O-C(CH3)=C(S)-C(O)-CH3)] 2, a unique derivative, which was characterized by X-ray crystallography. The geometry around tin(IV) is distorted octahedral, with the average Sn---S distance [2.548(4)Å] of the chelated dithiocarbamate being longer than the Sn---S distance [2.388(5)Å] of the five-membered chelating > Sn(O-C(CH3)=C(S)-C(O)-CH3) ligand moiety.
