Abstract
We introduce Iwasawa decomposition for the squeezing group SU(1, 1) and reduce the problem of q-representation of squeezed coherent states and their time evolution to a totally algebraic problem. We employ this decomposition to demonstrate a Guoy effect for squeezed states analogous to the classical Guoy phase jump in a focused light beam. The Iwasawa decomposition leads to a representation wherein the dynamics of squeezed states is governed by fractional linear transformations in the complex plane.
