Abstract
A simple prescription for calculation of a-nucleus optical model potential for A~12-209 and E~Coulomb barrier to about 140 MeV has been proposed. The global potentials from the present work have been tested in many reactions with α in entrance and exit channels. The calculations are consistent with a large body of data.
