Abstract

A simple self‐assembly technique is presented to engineer two structurally different optical resonators from red emitting DCM dye molecule via simple concentration variation. The resultant 0D μ‐hemispheres and 1D elongated μ‐rods act as whispering‐gallery and Fabry–Pèrot‐type resonators. The quality factors (Q) are in the range of ≈3.5–7.2 × 102, which are very high for a DCM dye in the J‐aggregated state.
